Rosetta Brown is a lifelong resident of Alton, Illinois, loving mother of 3, proud grandmother, dedicated foster parent to nearly 200 children and devoted wife for 24 years to the late Mr. Milton Brown. Her life’s work has been rooted in service through family, faith, and public leadership. As Alderwoman for Alton’s Fourth Ward, Rosie has championed youth programs, peace initiatives, and transparent governance, always showing up for her community with compassion and accountability.
Rosie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Greenville University and a Master’s in Human Resources from National Louis University. She has also completed doctoral coursework in Education at the University of Phoenix, reflecting her deep commitment to lifelong learning and educational equity.
Her leadership style is shaped by her experience as a foster mother, where she witnessed firsthand the gaps in education, mental health, and housing systems. Rosie believes in practical policy that meets people where they are and she’s ready to bring that philosophy to Springfield.
Rosie is running for Illinois State Representative - District 111 to turn things around for families, youth, and seniors across the region. Her campaign is built on listening, action, and bold solutions for real challenges. From mental health and education to economic opportunity and housing security.
